In a bold display of support, professional footballer Davie Selke's wife Evelyn unveiled a permanent and very personal tribute following his transfer. After Selke completed a move to Cologne from Hertha Berlin, proudly showcasing his new number 27 jersey, Evelyn took to social media to reveal her own unique marking.
On her Instagram story, she shared a photo pulling aside her bikini bottom to expose a tattoo of the numerals "27" inked onto her buttock. She playfully captioned the image: "Now the 27 on the butt finally makes sense again." Selke has worn the number 27 at several of his former clubs, including Werder Bremen, RB Leipzig, and Hertha Berlin.
The couple's relationship spans over nine years, beginning when Selke was playing for Werder Bremen's reserve team. The number has been associated with some of his successful seasons; he notably scored 11 Bundesliga goals while wearing it for Hertha before a subsequent move to Hamburg.
His most prolific season came in 2024/25, where he netted 22 goals in 31 league games for Cologne, with Evelyn regularly in attendance. However, after his contract concluded, Selke embarked on a new challenge with Turkish Süper Lig side İstanbul Başakşehir.
His adaptation to Turkish football has been gradual, and he recently expressed openness to a potential return to Germany's top flight. “Of course. There were talks last summer—and in the future, opportunities may arise that could allow me to return,” Selke stated in an interview with Sport Bild. “I’m proud to have played for many major, traditional clubs in Germany... and my career is far from over.”
Meanwhile, Evelyn seems to be embracing life in her new city, having updated her Instagram profile to read: "German girl living in Istanbul!" The family, including their young child, recently celebrated the New Year with a holiday in Abu Dhabi, sharing festive photos with the message: "Happy New Year from the Selkes. We wish you all a healthy and blessed 2026."
