North Carolina's sports betting market set a new record in November, marking the second consecutive month of record-breaking betting amounts since the state launched legal online betting in March this year, with monthly revenue also reaching the second highest in history.

Sports betting operators processed a total of $814 million in bets in November. This figure not only slightly exceeded the previous record of $811.4 million set in October this year but also showed a significant increase of 23.8% compared to November last year.

Monthly Performance Analysis: Revenue Firmly in Second Place
According to data released by the North Carolina Lottery Commission, of the total betting amount, $791.7 million was listed as "actual betting revenue," with the remaining $22.3 million as promotional betting revenue. The commission also voided $3.5 million worth of bets this month and distributed $717.6 million in prizes to players. After these settlements, the total gambling revenue generated in November was $92.9 million. This level of income ranks second in state history, only behind April 2024's $105.3 million, and represents a growth of 19% compared to the same period last year and October this year. For industry observers, this demonstrates the market's continued strong momentum.

Fiscal Contribution Interpretation: Tax Revenue Continues to Flow
The robust market performance directly translated into substantial state fiscal revenue. In November alone, sports betting contributed $16.7 million in tax revenue to North Carolina. This fund will be used to support various public services and projects within the state.

Annual Cumulative Data: Five Months Exceed $3.16 Billion
Looking at the current fiscal year (starting in July), by the end of November, the state's total sports betting amount had already surpassed the $3.16 billion mark. Of this, $3.06 billion was actual betting revenue, and $105 million was promotional betting. During this period, $19 million worth of bets were canceled, and players received a total of $2.83 billion in returns. This brought the total gambling revenue from July to November to $314.6 million, contributing $56.6 million in cumulative tax revenue to the state treasury.

The state regulatory body has not released specific data for individual operators. Currently, major operators such as FanDuel, DraftKings, Fanatics, ESPN Bet, Bet365, and BetMGM are actively operating in the North Carolina market.
