Before today’s season opener, Houston Rockets superstar Kevin Durant spoke with reporters.

Earlier this week, Durant and the Rockets finalized a two-year contract extension worth $80 million. On this, KD said:
"I can imagine myself retiring here in Houston, being a Rocket until the end of my career. I don’t like to say it too much, because no one knows what the future holds. But for now, that’s how I feel."

"I think my career is at a really good stage right now," KD continued, "and I know what I do on the court works. So why not keep improving? Keep maintaining my level, and focus on new ways to get better."

KD admitted that joining the Rockets gives him his best opportunity to chase a third championship in his career. More importantly, he enjoys the atmosphere in Houston.
"I won’t always play perfect games, but my shooting and ball-handling skills are solid," KD said. "I like challenges, I like chasing perfection. Even if true perfection is impossible, why not try to get as close as I can for the rest of my career?"

Rockets head coach Ime Udoka also commented on Durant’s character:
"We all know what kind of person KD is. His professionalism and work ethic have a subtle but profound impact on the young players," Udoka said. "In fact, KD speaks more than people think. He’s not the type to be flashy about everything. Sometimes, the people who speak less but choose their moments wisely are the ones who say the most meaningful things."
